Widget Bakery

The Widget Bakery makes a widget look see-through. It cuts out the exact part of your wallpaper that sits behind the widget on your Home Screen and uses it as the widget's background, so the widget blends into your wallpaper. It's the widget version of the icon Bakery.

Baking a widget background

  1. Open the widget's editor (see Applying Widgets) and go to its Background section.
  2. Choose Transparent, then tap Bake transparent background.
  3. Import a screenshot of your Home Screen (the easiest option) or your wallpaper file.
  4. Tap where the widget will sit on your Home Screen.
  5. Tap Export and choose whether to show labels.

When it's done, the Background section reads Background baked. If you change your wallpaper or move the widget, bake it again.

The Widget Bakery works in every widget editor that has a Background section, including Clock, Battery, Weather, Calendar, Color Block, Popout, Combo, Gauge, Graph, and Retro Frame.

Widget BG Blur

Below the image and position panels there's a Widget BG Blur card. Turn it on and drag the slider to soften the wallpaper behind the widget. Your actual wallpaper stays sharp, so the widget looks frosted. Widget BG Blur is free.

Glassify

The Glassify card turns the baked background into glass that bends your wallpaper at the widget's edges. Turn it on, then pick a style:

Glassify is part of Theme Studio Pro. On the free tier, the card shows a Pro badge, and turning it on opens the upgrade screen.

Blur and Glassify changes apply the next time you bake.

Screens without measurements

Baking needs Theme Studio's measurements for your device's Home Screen. On a screen it hasn't measured yet (today that's the foldable iPhone Duo), the Widget Bakery shows "Baked backgrounds aren't available on this screen yet" and Export is turned off. Every other background style still works.
