Widget Types
The widget types available in Theme Studio. Widgets marked Pro need Theme Studio Pro. See Subscription.
Clock
Large time display with date underneath. Two layout modes:
- Stacked, hour/minutes on top of each other.
- Inline, single-line digital clock.
Configurable: 12 vs 24-hour, zero-padding, gap between digits.
Analog Clock
A customizable analog clock face.
Weather
Current temperature, condition, and location. Uses Apple's WeatherKit, so requires location permission.
Configurable: location (auto or fixed), temperature unit, show high/low.
Calendar
Today's date in a large numeral with weekday name. Optional accent ring around the day number.
Battery
Phone battery percentage with a juice-bar visualisation. Reads from iOS battery state. You can pick any SF Symbol for the center icon.
Battery Number
Your battery percentage as a big number.
Photo
A single photo from your library. Square crop with optional rounded mask.
Quote
A rotating quote from a curated set. Refreshes daily.
Gauge (Pro)
A ring, arc, capsule, or slider that shows a value. Sizes: small, medium, large.
- Sources: Battery, Day / Week / Month / Year Progress, Countdown (between two dates you set), Custom Value, Storage Used, Memory Used.
- Styles: Soft Ring, Arc, Open Arc, Capsule, Slider.
- Layout: One Gauge, or Three Gauges side by side, each with its own source.
- A center icon (an SF Symbol or an icon from your packs), colors including a warning color, thickness, label position, and an optional status row.
- Device Stats (in Browse) is a ready-made Three Gauges layout for storage, memory, and battery. Its status row shows your connection (Wi-Fi, Cellular, Wired, or Offline), Low Power Mode when it's on, and a heat warning if your phone runs warm.
Graph (Pro)
A chart of your steps or the weather. Sizes: small, medium, large.
- Sources: Steps, Temperature, or Chance of Rain.
- Step ranges: Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Last 12 Months. iOS gives the app your last 7 days right away; after that Theme Studio keeps up to 400 days on your phone, so longer ranges fill in over time.
- Styles: Pill Bars, Track Bars, Smooth Area, Line.
- An optional goal line for your daily step goal (7-day and 30-day views).
- Weather uses your current location or a city you pick by name (a pinned city doesn't need location permission).
Retro Frame (Pro)
A glowing LCD screen in an 80s-style frame. Sizes: small, medium, large. Browse has four starting styles: Clock, Photo, Split, and Weather.
- Content: Time, Date, Day, Weather, Battery, Custom Text, or None.
- An optional photo behind the lettering or beside it, with an orange film date stamp.
- Lettering color presets (Amber, Nixie, VFD, Phosphor, Red LED, White) or any color, plus glow, ghost segments, slant, thickness, and Segments or Pixel lettering.
- Show or hide the frame, the screen background, and the border, and pick a frame label like "DIGITAL QUARTZ" or "STEREO CASSETTE."
Popout (Pro)
A layered widget split into 2 to 4 panels (clock, weather, battery, gauge, graph, and more). A front card "pops out" over a see-through back layer, with a notch button you can set any SF Symbol for.
Combo (Pro)
Splits one widget into 2 to 4 panels, each with its own content. Panels can be see-through over a baked background.
Horoscope (Pro)
Pick a sign and daily, weekly, or monthly, and the widget shows that horoscope.
Steps Calendar (Pro)
A month grid where each day's square gets more solid the more steps you took. It's under the Steps chip in Browse.
App Grid (Pro)
A widget that looks like a row or column of app icons. Tapping each icon opens that app. Useful for fitting more app launchers into one widget slot.
Tabs (Pro)
A row of tabs you tap right on your Home Screen to switch what the widget shows: the time, the date, the weather, your battery, a quote and more. There are seven tab styles, and Medium and Large tabs can show two things at once. Sizes: small, medium, large.
Flow (Pro)
The time, today's events and the weather, with a flowing panel in your theme's color. The panel can be solid, glass or embossed. Sizes: medium, large.
Contour (Pro)
The weather and your next event, with a smooth graph of your steps, the temperature or the chance of rain. Sizes: medium, large.
Almanac (Pro)
A big clock, the week at a glance, the weather and round buttons that open your favorite apps. Sizes: medium, large.
Style across every widget is controlled in Editing Widgets. Each widget type also has its own configuration options when you edit it from its widget library card. To make a widget's background match your wallpaper, see Widget Bakery.
